Voyages du geste # 4 – 2006 – Montemor-o-Novo

The residence was at Montemor-o-Novo, in a convent where is settled The Space of Time (O Espaço do Tempo), in september 2006, by the kindness of its director, the choreographer Rui Horta.
Other personalities have been invited to participate in this residence, some artists of different fields, most younger, pretending making exchanges and get opinions from people exterior to the group of the regular partners.
The morning activities consisted in courses given by the teachers to the participants in order to make their own programs better known. The subjects concerned Alexander Technique, Voice, Movement, Tales and Puppets.
In the afternoons meetings were organised to discuss and make clearer the essence of the Voyages du geste project and in which sense to follow in the future. It was also the opportunity to establish in detail the program of the next stage which will take place in 2011, with participants coming from all the countries refered and which will happen again in Montemor-o-Novo.
Along the working days some conferences and performances were realised by the participants.
On the last Day, a diversified session was opened to the inhabitants of the city and it has been a good opportunity for exchanges between the participants and the audience.

Voyages du geste # 6 – 2011 – Montemor-o-Novo

Main purposes of this Voyages du geste # 6 :
– To develop several means of artistic training in stage arts.
– To create different spaces of improvisation and creativity proposed by the teachers, taking advantage of the suggestions of the young participants, following
multidisciplinary forms.
– To establish regular relations with the local community, all stay long, preparing some performances opened to the public and presenting some exercises at the end of
the meeting.
– To organise the program in order to prevent some spaces and free time to the conviviality and cultural exchanges among the participants from the 6 euromediterranean countries.
The programme consisted on sessions of F. M. Alexander and a puppets studio, in a collaboration between Lucia Carbone and Karim Dakroub ; sessions of movement and choreography on the subjects Esquisses and Every little movement, respectively directed
by Marie-Christine Wavreille and Catherine Vernerie ; sessions in theatre interpretation, Apero avec Pinter, on texts by this author, directed by Patrizia D’Antona and in collaboration with the sessions of choreography and sound band by Yvon Bayer ; three conferences on Propositions on artistic projects by Marina Bahram ; the voice sessions, directed by Maria João Serrão, gave place to a sequence of improvisations on the theme Fragments d’après John Cage, presented in sequence with some propositions of performatic music directed by Yvon Bayer, in the last exercise, open to the public.
The organisation committee has invited some personalities connected to the artistic creation and pedagogy to attend, in an organised programme, to some sessions
and to the public final presentations.
